PICKNEY Netball

The PICKNEY Netball programme is a joint project of Netball Jamaica,the Kiwanis Club of CyberConnect Jamaica and Kiwanis International Division 23 East in Jamaica of the Eastern Canada and the Caribbean District .

 

The PICKNEY Netball programmes will target the development of hand-eye co-ordination along with team building principles of children between the ages of three to five (3-5) years old using the sport of netball.

 

The programme was dubbed “Pickney Netball” with the tag line “Let’s Play”. These principles are integral to all

sports and will aid in the development of the children (boys and girls) as they start out on their learning adventure.

The project came out of a social discussion at a Kiwanis Meeting.  It was felt that greater participation of our children in the sport.  This will therefore lead to a stronger support programme for the sports of Netball in Jamaica.  Moreso, children are enjoying themselves playing the sports and learning good socialisation skills through sports.
